I went snorkeling for the first time
Although there was a lot of beauty, I still internally felt a missing piece there. I really noticed the lack of diversity in the ecosystem there. With the California Garibaldi as the protected state fish, most other types of fish, especially predatory fish which are overfished for their tasty meat were gone. And to the normal tourist, this ecosystem is normal since they have never really seen a “true” ecosystem. The big fish these days would have been considered small back then. I really think everyone should be educated of this.
There were so many longboarders at la jolla today
They were freakin good. My best experience was catching a wave by one of the guys as he went up to the nose. We then dodged all these surfers in the way and it just felt really good since there was no “get out of my way” feeling that shortboarders normally have.
